What the Training Covers
Participants learn the fundamentals of how fires start, spread, and can be controlled and why choosing the right response is critical for safety. Items covered:
The Science of Fire: Understanding the "Fire Triangle" (Heat, Oxygen, and Fuel) and how to break it.
Hazard Identification: How to spot potential ignition sources and combustible materials in a workplace setting.
Fire Extinguisher Theory: Identifying different extinguisher types (Water, CO2, Foam, Powder, Wet Chemical) and their correct applications.
Emergency Evacuation: Understanding alarm signals, assembly points, and the importance of keeping fire exits clear.
Human Behaviour: How people react in emergencies and how to maintain calm during an evacuation.

Who Is Fire Awareness Training For?
Fire Warden training (often called Fire Marshal training) is designed for designated staff members who have been given specific duties to help prevent fires and lead evacuations. People who should attend this training:
Designated Fire Wardens/Marshals: Any employee officially appointed to oversee fire safety in their department or floor.

- In Person - take 3.5 hours (with practical use of fire extinguishers and fire drill walk through)

Fire Safety Training
1. How often do staff need fire awareness training?
While legislation suggests "regular" training, it is industry best practice to provide a refresher every 3 years or whenever there is a significant change to the workplace layout.
2. Is fire awareness training the same as fire marshal training?
No. Fire Awareness is for all staff. Fire Marshal (or Warden) training is a more in-depth course for designated individuals with specific evacuation responsibilities.
